My name is Jessica, I am an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant, the owner of Infant Instincts, I have a degree in maternal and infant health, I am an infant nutrition specialist, homesteader and baker. I provide personalized care and build lasting relationships. My goals are to empower your family with evidence-based techniques and provide you with a safe environment where you can ask any questions. I want to ensure that all women and their families have the physical and emotional love and support they need during pregnancy, labor, and the postpartum months. Whether you are expecting your first child or are a seasoned pro, each pregnancy and breastfeeding journey is unique. I’m here to help you achieve your goals, whatever they may be.
Background
From a young age, I’ve always loved taking care of babies. Throughout my young adult life, I have worked in daycares, children’s activity centers, and was a nanny for 10 years. I have a degree in maternal and child health with a minor in human lactation. In addition, I am an IBCLC (International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant). I have been a postpartum doula/newborn care specialist and have many hours volunteering in labor and delivery at hospitals. I have a true passion for helping mothers through their pregnancy, birth, and postpartum journey. When I’m not working with a mother, I enjoy working on our homestead where we raise and grow our own food, all organic and farm-fresh.
Community involvement is extremely important to me, I am part of the Placer Birth Connections and Placer County Breastfeeding coalition.
